New Alien Game Reimagined: Eidos Montreal’s Survival Horror Adventure

Eidos Montreal is reportedly developing a new Alien game, according to sources who spoke to Insider Gaming. Development details point to a significantly more ambitious project, with a budget nearing $75 million. The studio aims to blend survival horror with exploration and action, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere true to the Alien films. Players will navigate a derelict space station, facing not only xenomorphs but also human mercenaries. Gameplay emphasizes stealth, combat, puzzle-solving, and resource management, offering more than just a run-and-gun experience. The game will feature multiple characters, including Aubrey, an engineer who uses tools like grappling hooks and magnetic boots. Players will also encounter Ryuzo, the apparent antagonist, and Ripley 8, a character from the films. There is hope that Sigourney Weaver will reprise her role and voice Ripley 8. Scheduled for release in 2028 on all major platforms, the game is still in early development, so details and the release date may evolve.
