Starfield on Nintendo Switch 2 is a Wish from Bethesda

Bethesda has hinted at plans for Starfield on Nintendo Switch 2, but its release remains uncertain due to development challenges.

Bethesda has announced several games for the Nintendo Switch 2, though Starfield, one of the studio’s most ambitious titles, is not among them. While Fallout 4 and a native version of Skyrim are already in development for the console, Bethesda is also preparing ports of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Oblivion Remastered, both scheduled for 2026. Also in development is Starfield Groove, a new installment in the Rhythm Heaven series, which has been dormant since 2015. However, development of Starfield Groove is facing challenges, casting doubt on its release. NateTheHate, a reliable source who first reported on Starfield for PS5, reports that Bethesda is working on a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Starfield, but its release is uncertain. Separately, the release of Borderlands 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2 has been delayed to allow the developers more time for development and polishing. A new release date has not yet been announced. FromSoftware is developing The Duskbloods, a brand-new title scheduled for release in 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. This game will focus on player-versus-player-versus-environment (PvPvE) action, emphasizing online multiplayer gameplay within a dark, gothic, Victorian-era setting. The Duskbloods may be a spiritual successor to Bloodborne.

Nintendo Switch 2's Uncertain Starfield Release amid Development Struggles

When asked on X whether Starfield will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2, NateTheHate reiterated that a version is in production, but its troubled development makes its release uncertain. These announcements and updates provide a glimpse into the games expected to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming years.
