South of Midnight Expands to PS5 and Switch 2 in Q2 2026

Microsoft has confirmed that South of Midnight, an adventure game from Compulsion Games initially released in April 2025 as an Xbox exclusive, is coming to PlayStation 5 and the Switch 2 in the second quarter of 2026, joining a growing trend of previously exclusive titles arriving on multiple platforms. The game, set in the southern United States, follows Hazel, a magical weaver whose life is upended by a violent hurricane, so she sets out to find her mother, who was swept away by the storm. While the action-adventure gameplay wasn’t groundbreaking, South of Midnight was praised by critics for its artistic merit and was played by one million players within its first month, thanks to its availability on Game Pass. Expanded Game Lineup for Q2 2026 on PS5, Switch 2 & More!

Divinity: Original Sin 2 from Larian Studios, now available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, offers turn-based combat, a branching storyline, and extensive customization. Often called the spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate 3, the updated versions boast improved resolution and smoother frame rates compared to the earlier releases on Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Owners of the original receive a free upgrade to the new version on all platforms, except for Switch 2 owners in Japan, who must pay 100 yen. Capcom is bringing Pragmata to Switch 2 and has confirmed amiibo figures and a demo. A new Mega Man game is slated for release on both Switch and Switch 2 in 2027. A new Tomb Raider game, said to be both a remake of the original and a brand-new entry, was leaked before The Game Awards. Other titles reportedly slated for the Switch, though not yet confirmed for Switch 2, include Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Control Resonant, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, Star Wars Galactic Racer, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. These announcements set the stage for an exciting year for gaming fans.
