Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet's 2027 Release Unlikely? Tati Gabrielle Spills Secrets

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, announced at The Game Awards in December 2024, is Naughty Dog's next project. The game features Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun, a seasoned bounty hunter stranded on the distant planet Sempiria. Players will encounter blade-wielding robots and delve into the mysteries surrounding Sempiria, a planet inhabited by a crime syndicate known as the Five Aces, from which no one has ever escaped. Other voice actors in the game include Troy Baker, Ashley Scott, Stephen A. Chang, and Tony Dalton. Naughty Dog, the studio behind the Uncharted and The Last of Us series, canceled a multiplayer spin-off for The Last of Us in 2023. The team has since refocused on creating narrative-driven singleplayer experiences. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a new intellectual property set in a dystopian future inspired by the 1980s.

Intergalactic Heretic Prophet's 2028 Release Probable - Tati Gabrielle and J.A.M.'s Journey Unfolds

During an interview with Tati Gabrielle at the Mortal Kombat 2 press junket in London, she confirmed that her work on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is not yet complete, suggesting that her performance capture scenes are ongoing. Jason Schreier's recent Bloomberg investigation indicated that Naughty Dog is preparing for crunch time in an effort to release the game by mid-2027. However, Gabrielle's update, combined with the studio's impending crunch period, strongly suggests that a 2027 launch for the game is unlikely. A 2028 release appears more probable. Gabrielle also discussed her character's name, Jordan A. Mun. It is not a play on words related to space, but rather a direct reference to JAM Software, the studio's former name before it became Naughty Dog. Jordan A. Mun's initials, J.A.M., are a nod to original creators Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin (Jason and Andy's Magic). The character's Korean and Black heritage also reflects Jordan's own background, with "Mun" being a traditional Korean surname. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is anticipated to offer a fresh perspective on Naughty Dog's creative output and may feature expansive environments, potentially offering players more freedom to explore, similar to Elden Ring.
