007 First Light Unveils Lenny Kravitz as Villain Bawma, King of Pirates

To promote 007: First Light, Io Interactive is partnering with Hollywood talent. Following the addition of Gemma Chan as Selina Tan, head of MI6’s tactical simulation division, the studio announced that Lenny Kravitz will play Bawma, the game’s main villain and head of the black market network Aleph. Chan announced Kravitz’s casting during The Game Awards. As Bawma, also known as the King of Pirates, Kravitz not only provides the voice but also his likeness for the character. Io Interactive stated in a press release that Kravitz embodies the ability to inspire both fear and loyalty—the qualities they sought for Bawma, who built his international arms trafficking network, La Tete Daleph, from a cemetery of abandoned ships in Mauritania, constructing a true empire. The Game Awards trailer also depicts Bond and his MI6 mentor, John Greenway, in a tense situation, hinting at significant consequences for their actions. It showcases Bawma throwing a person into a pit filled with crocodiles while James Bond hangs upside down above.
