Phantom Blade Zero Unveiled at The Game Awards 2025 – Kungfupunk Action Awaits in September 2026

S-Game studio presented a new trailer and announced the release date for Phantom Blade Zero at The Game Awards 2025. The game will launch on September 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam, positioning it for release two months before Grand Theft Auto 6. Phantom Blade Zero represents a reboot of S-Game’s indie title, Rainblood, which was created by studio head Soulframe Liang in 2010. The latest installment in the Phantom series combines multiple genres to create what S-Game describes as "Kungfupunk." After playing an early version, Insider Gaming reported that Phantom Blade Zero offers an enjoyable experience and is worth purchasing upon release. The 4-minute trailer also provided new insights into gameplay possibilities. In Phantom Blade Zero, players assume the role of Soul, an elite assassin framed for the murder of The Order's patriarch. Saved by a mystic healer but with only 66 days to live, Soul must identify the true mastermind behind the crime and confront powerful enemies.

Phantom Blade Zero's Epic Combat Choreographed by Kenji Tanigaki for September 2026 Release

Action choreography is central to Phantom Blade Zero, and S-Game enlisted Kenji Tanigaki, renowned for his work in Hong Kong cinema on films such as SPL, Swordsmen, Flashpoint, and Sakra starring Donnie Yen, to ensure impactful combat sequences. The trailer highlights Soul's abilities with intricate combos, swift sword strikes, and acrobatic maneuvers. Given the game's challenging combat, fans of titles such as FromSoftware's Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice may find Phantom Blade Zero a similarly appealing experience.
