Warner Bros. has released the first trailer, promotional images, and posters for Dune: Part Three, offering a first look at Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film, which jumps nearly twenty years ahead in the timeline. Villeneuve returns as director and co-writer with Brian K. Vaughan to conclude the trilogy based on Frank Herbert’s science fiction saga. The film focuses on Paul Atreides's final arc. The trailer, which debuted on March 17, 2026, emphasizes a darker tone, revealing the empire grappling with the consequences of the holy war ignited by Paul (Timothée Chalamet) in previous installments. The trailer confirms that Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and Charlotte Rampling will return. The biggest highlights, however, are the new cast members: Robert Pattinson (The Batman) as Scytale, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, and Ida Brooke, who will play roles in the new political intrigues of the story. Jason Momoa is also returning as Duncan Idaho, despite the character's death in the first film. This third film adapts Herbert's Dune Messiah.

Zendaya shared her excitement for the film at a recent Q&A event. The trailer also includes a scene where Chani asks Paul if they would name a hypothetical child Ghanima (for a girl) or Leto (for a boy). Both Pattinson and Taylor-Joy sport buzz cuts. The final scene shows Chani sprinting toward an unseen foe. Dune: Part Three is set to release in theaters on December 18, 2026—the same day as Avengers: Doomsday, leading fans to call it "Dunesday." The official announcement was made on Twitter by DUNE (@dunemovie) on March 16, 2026. Warner Bros. has confirmed Dune: Part Three will have an exclusive theatrical release, maintaining its commitment to IMAX screenings like the previous films.
