Marvel Studios presented its fans with the first official trailer for Fantastic Four, scheduled for a cinema release on July 25, 2025. Many were eagerly anticipating this livestream event. The broadcast began with a live introduction set in a reconstructed space station environment, featuring the four actors (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach). It was noted that they appeared tired, as it was 4 am in Los Angeles. Following an unengaging Q&A session where the host posed irrelevant questions, we were finally treated to a 1 minute and 37 seconds teaser providing glimpses of what Phase 6 of the MCU will look like (with Captain America: The First Fight, set for release on February 12, 2025, marking the conclusion of Phase 5).
If one is already familiar with the distinctly ’60s artistic approach (with Matt Shakman undoubtedly serving as director, given his work on WandaVision), witnessing this vision come to life provides a clearer insight into the film’s intended direction. The trailer showcases a 1960s New York where these four astronaut-turned-superheroes are already recognized by American citizens. Each protagonist is introduced, complete with their powers and authentically ’60s costumes (which we appreciate). There is even a nod to “The Bear” series when Ebon Moss-Bachrach tastes a sauce prepared by the robot HERBIE. Joseph Quinn as the Inhuman Torch has already garnered high praise for his performance, while Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm also shines. Pedro Pascal remains the only one who has not yet revealed the full extent of his powers, but that is set to change. Meanwhile, John Malkovich makes a brief appearance; his role remains undisclosed, though theorists speculate it could be Ivan Kragoff, aka Red Ghost, and this theory seems plausible.
Regarding speculations, it appears clear that the Four Fantastics will reclaim the Avengers Tower, which has been vacant since Tony Stark’s death, once they are integrated into the MCU timeline of Earth-616. Additionally, actor Ralph Ineson has been cast to portray the new major antagonist in the MCU as Galactus descends upon this Earth, casting a threatening gaze at the Statue of Liberty.
The release of The Fantastic Four is scheduled for February 25, 2025, and there is significant anticipation for what Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has in store. Hype around the film has certainly returned.
