Ana Paula Renault’s 96-Year-Old Father Supporting Her BBB 26 Return, High-Ranking Politician and Cousin of Brazilian Academy Member

Journalist Ana Paula Renault revealed that her 96-year-old father, Gerardo Henrique Machado Renault, is supporting her financially and encouraging her to pursue another appearance on Big Brother Brasil (BBB) 26. Gerardo, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 1929, will turn 97 this year. Gerardo holds a degree in legal and social sciences. Elected in 1991, he now heads the Minas Gerais Legislative Previdence Institute. His cousin, Abgar de Castro Araujo Renault, was a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters and a former Minister of Education and Culture. According to the Chamber of Deputies Transparency Portal, the now-retired Gerardo received R 18,082.81 in November 2025. Ana Paula is the daughter of Gerardo and his second wife, Maria da Conceicao Machado Renault, who died in a car accident when Ana Paula was 17. Ana Paula has five siblings: Cida, who shares both parents, and Gisele, Rene, and Cibele from Gerardo’s first marriage. Ana Paula maintains a close relationship with her father and declined a marriage proposal to remain near him. Following his advice, she entered the reality show with the goal of using the prize money to fund her retirement.
