How to Enable PSSR 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro for Improved Game Graphics

To activate PSSR 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro and enhance game graphics, follow these steps: 1. Navigate to Settings, indicated by the gear icon in the upper right corner. 2. Select Display and then Video. 3. For games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, an additional step may be required. Within the game's settings, go to Graphics or Visuals and select either the Pro or PSSR Enhanced mode. This toggle is typically exclusive to PS5 Pro users. 4. In the Video Output menu, locate and select "Enhance PSSR Image Quality," then ensure the switch is toggled on. To ensure this option is available, update your PS5 Pro to the latest system software by navigating to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings, and then install any available updates. This guarantees the latest version of PSSR 2 is enabled for all compatible games. Sony confirmed that the latest PS5 software update is live, supporting enhanced graphics in major titles, including Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Control: Ultimate Edition, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Monster Hunter Rise, and Resident Evil Re:Verse.

Upgrading to PSSR 2.0 for Superior Game Graphics on PS5 Pro Now Available

The PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) feature is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 Pro. The latest software update, released on March 16, 2026, includes the upgraded PSSR 2.0. Sony previewed this AI technology last month, stating it would debut alongside Resident Evil Requiem. PSSR 2.0 analyzes the console's base graphics and uses machine learning to produce a clearer, smoother image. The update is being distributed in phases; some users may receive it sooner than others. Once the console is updated, the newest PSSR model operates in the background for all compatible games, optimizing image quality.
