Pokémon Legends ZA – Impressive Sales Despite Mixed Reactions Boosting Switch Season

Despite some mixed reactions, Pokémon Legends ZA achieved impressive sales figures upon release. The Pokémon Company reported 5.8 million copies sold across both Switch consoles in its first week. While these numbers didn’t surpass Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which sold 6.5 million units in its first week, nearly half of the Pokémon Legends ZA sales came from the newer Switch 2 console, indicating rapid adoption of the new platform. According to Famitsu’s estimates, the game sold approximately 872,552 physical copies on the original Switch and 612,905 on the Switch 2, excluding digital downloads. Although Pokémon Legends ZA’s sales fell short of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s record of 10 million copies in three days, suggesting a possible shift in the market compared to the mainline series, the Pokémon franchise remains strong.
