Jujutsu Kaisen to Get Continuation in Creator’s New Manga

Gege Akutami Launches Limited Series ‘Mojuro’ in Jujutsu Kaisen Universe with Yuta and Maki’s Grandchildren

Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, is developing a new manga titled Mojuro. Set within the Jujutsu Kaisen universe after the original series concludes, Mojuro will feature Yuta and Maki’s grandchildren as its main characters. Akutami is co-writing the series with Yuji Iwasaki. Akutami had previously declined spin-off opportunities for Jujutsu Kaisen. He stated on social media that during the main series’ serialization, he received various offers for spin-offs written by others. He turned these down to prevent the manga from becoming unmanageable and to ensure the series remained on its intended course, thereby maintaining creative control. His stance changed, however, when a specific proposal emerged. Akutami believed this idea could expand the main story, develop the universe, and even shift the timeline. This concept excited him because creating parallel stories would not interfere with his ongoing work on Jujutsu Kaisen. Mojuro originated from this idea, with a solid plan materializing after multiple meetings. Mojuro is planned as a limited manga series, scheduled for serialization over approximately six months and to be collected into three volumes.
