Ubisoft Forms Vantage Studios with Tencent, Acquires Amazon’s March of Giants Team

Ubisoft is acquiring Amazon Games Montreal, the studio developing the MOBA game March of Giants. This acquisition transfers ownership of the game from Amazon to Ubisoft. According to VGC, Ubisoft’s announcement welcomed Xavier Marquis and Alexandre Parizeau back to the company. Marquis, the founder and creative director of March of Giants, was part of the original creative team behind Rainbow Six Siege. Parizeau previously managed Ubisoft Toronto. Both had been working at Amazon. While the details of the deal remain undisclosed, Amazon will assist Ubisoft in promoting March of Giants on Twitch. Ubisoft stated that the acquired team from Amazon will be part of a new subsidiary formed with Tencent, called Vantage Studios. Ubisoft also sees March of Giants as a significant opportunity for innovation. The Montreal team will continue operations under the new company, ensuring the release of the game. They will be part of an undisclosed Creative House within Ubisoft.
