For over a decade, Super Meat Boy has been a notable success on Xbox Live Arcade as an “indie” game. It is now returning in a “next-generation” version featuring glorious 3D graphics.
Titled “Super Meat Boy 3D,” the game revealed in a trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 features gameplay that should be familiar to fans of the original series. The small, meat-shaped character must navigate through numerous hazards, primarily consisting of blades, saws, and grinders, which are capable of slicing or piercing him.
Super Meat Boy 3D is scheduled for release on an undisclosed date in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be available on Game Pass from the day of launch.
