Xbox Cloud Gaming Surges in Brazil

Expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming Reaches India and More Countries, Boosting Gameplay Hours by 45%

Microsoft has expanded Xbox Cloud Gaming to 29 countries, including India, which is considered the world's fastest-growing video game market. This expansion follows significant growth in Latin America, where countries like Brazil and Argentina have seen double-digit increases in both gameplay time and the number of active players, prompting Microsoft to bolster its servers in the region. The service's primary appeal is that it allows gaming on PCs, laptops, smartphones, tablets, compatible Smart TVs (such as some LG models), or Fire TV devices with a decent internet connection—without requiring lengthy installations or transfers. According to Microsoft, the number of hours played via Cloud Gaming by Game Pass subscribers has increased by approximately 45% compared to last year, thanks to both increased gameplay time from console players and a growing number of people playing on other devices.

Expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming Global Infrastructure for Faster Gameplay on LG Smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV Devices

To accommodate this growing demand and reduce wait times, particularly in regions with significant membership increases, Microsoft is expanding servers and investing in infrastructure globally. For example, Xbox Cloud Gaming is expanding in Brazil to support LG Smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV devices. This allows users to launch current titles, first-party games, and other games immediately on those devices without needing a console or waiting for downloads.
