SNK has officially revealed Kenshiro, the legendary protagonist of Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star), as a playable character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The announcement, made several months after its initial tease at AnimeJapan 2026, adds Kenshiro to the game’s roster. Kenshiro is slated to join the game in June as part of Season Pass 2, though an exact release date has not yet been announced. He will retain his signature fighting style, characterized by aggressive techniques and his iconic seven chest scars. SNK describes Kenshiro as a fast, technical fighter capable of executing devastating combos using state change mechanics and special activations. Kenshiro’s integration into the game includes a dedicated story arc within the Story Mode. Players will find him awakening in a South Town unfamiliar to him, where the prevalent violence and injustice resonate with his own post-apocalyptic world. He participates in the new King of Fighters tournament with the objective to confront and end Wolfgang Krauser’s dominance over the city, alongside characters like Terry Bogard, Hokutomaru, and Hotaru.

Fatal Fury City of Wolves Introduces Kenshiro in June with New Stage and Discounted Legends Edition

A gameplay trailer and new screenshots for Kenshiro have been released. The character will be playable at EVO 2026, taking place from June 26 to 28 in Las Vegas. To celebrate Kenshiro’s arrival, SNK is offering a discount on the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Legends Edition, which includes both Season 1 and Season 2 passes for $29.99. For existing players, Kenshiro will be available as part of the Season 2 pass, which can be purchased separately for $19.99. This collaboration marks Kenshiro as the third crossover character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. In his Arcade and South Town stories, he is focused on defeating Krauser. A new post-apocalyptic city stage related to Kenshiro has also been teased. Beyond Kenshiro, SNK has hinted at future additions, including Rick Strowd and a character previously seen only in the Fatal Fury animated movie. Furthermore, SNK’s Arena production studio is developing a new Fatal Fury animated series, a Geese Howard film, and other adaptations based on their intellectual property.
