New Studio Cosmic Division Launches with Unannounced Single-Player IP from Returnal Director Harry Krueger

Harry Krueger, director of Returnal and a veteran of Housemarque, has announced the formation of a new studio in Finland called Cosmic Division. Krueger, who spent nearly 15 years at Housemarque, contributed to titles such as Returnal, Nex Machina, and Resogun. Cosmic Division’s first project is a new single-player intellectual property for PC and consoles with platforms to be determined. The studio aims to deliver an uncompromising gameplay experience with a story designed for strong emotional resonance. Krueger departed Housemarque in 2023, and the announcement of his new studio was made alongside initial details of its first project. The studio has secured initial seed funding and is now seeking additional investors and new team members. Cosmic Division is located in downtown Helsinki. While specific details regarding release windows, platforms, or publishing partners for the debut game remain undisclosed, the studio has expressed its commitment to creating captivating gameplay mechanics, stunning audiovisuals, and impactful stories. No additional team members have been disclosed, apart from Krueger himself. Krueger stated, “We stand grounded with solid foundations beneath us. Now, our journey of cosmic wonders begins as we venture towards the stars… and beyond.”
