Square Enix recently updated sales figures for the Octopath Traveler series, confirming its continued popularity and sparking discussion among fans. One such fan, a YouTube user named Dott, has conceptualized a Chrono Trigger remake inspired by Square Enix’s HD2D games like Octopath Traveler. Some fans have suggested that Square Enix consider Dott’s concept, which retains the vintage feel of the original Chrono Trigger while incorporating modern elements, for a potential remaster. According to Square Enix, the Octopath Traveler series has sold over 7 million copies, a million more than reported in December 2025, when Octopath Traveler Zero was released. While the exact sales figures for Octopath Traveler Zero remain undisclosed, its status as the most recent title in the series suggests it has contributed significantly to this increase.

Square Enix’s Triangle Strategy Offers Deep, Customizable Gameplay with Branching Storylines

The development team behind Triangle Strategy also created Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. In terms of battle mechanics, Triangle Strategy resembles the Fire Emblem series, though with a key difference: units that fall in battle are removed from the field but not permanently eliminated. Triangle Strategy features approximately 30 playable characters, each with multiple class options, allowing for diverse gameplay customization. Furthermore, the game offers branching storylines and multiple endings based on player choices.
