Enhanced Visuals Await in Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 on PS5 Pro with PSSR2 Update

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 will be enhanced on the PlayStation 5 Pro, taking advantage of the console's new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology. According to Remedy, the update will utilize PSSR2, the latest version of Sony's image conversion technology, and is expected to arrive in late March. Remedy promises noticeable improvements in visual stability and sharpness, allowing players to explore both games with a new level of visual fidelity. Resident Evil Re:Verse was the first game to implement PSSR. Capcom's Masaru Ijuin noted that the improved PSSR makes it easier to process intricate details and textures that are typically difficult to upscale. In October 2025, Control: Ultimate Edition received a special PlayStation 5 Pro update that significantly improved the game's graphics and detail during motion. At its launch, Alan Wake 2 did not have these enhancements. Players can toggle the enhanced PSSR quality on or off within the system settings, under Video Output in the Screen and Video settings.
