VisionQuest to Showcase Marvel Taking Risks

Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, believes the upcoming series VisionQuest is a bold undertaking that exemplifies Marvel's willingness to take risks. VisionQuest, a sequel to WandaVision centered on White Vision, is slated for release in 2026. According to Bettany, VisionQuest showrunner Terry Matalas also recognizes that Marvel thrives on risk-taking. Bettany told ScreenRant that Matalas "understands the character" and has created "a really fun, entertaining series about an outsider trying to figure out who they are," adding, "Vision is for the kid I was when I was a kid – the kid who felt out of place and didn’t fit into any community. He knows who these stories are for and who Vision is." Matalas himself has described VisionQuest as a project he loves and is immensely proud of, adding that the scenes are a "delight to watch." Reports indicate the plot involves Vision regaining his body through Kang's technology. Kang, a variant of Immortus, resurrects Ultron (played by James Spader), who becomes Kang's enforcer.

Consequently, the remaining Avengers must join forces with the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Guardians of the Galaxy to stop Kang. This event will bring significant changes to the Marvel Universe, establishing new status quos for various characters and teams, leading to a final showdown on the planet Arakko. This storyline is part of a larger narrative called "The Sovereign," which began with the "Empyre" event in May 2020 and continued for several months with numerous tie-ins and spin-offs. Writers such as Al Ewing, Dan Slott, and Chip Zdarsky contributed to this epic tale. Fans can anticipate VisionQuest arriving in 2026, promising bold developments for the Marvel Universe. An official release date is yet to be announced.
