Microsoft Redirects Obsidian's Strategy after Disappointing Sales of The Outer Worlds Sequels

Obsidian Entertainment has clarified that they are not currently developing The Outer Worlds 3, nor are there immediate plans for a direct sequel. Disappointed with the sales performance of The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed, Microsoft has directed Obsidian to reevaluate its development strategies. As a result, Obsidian is prioritizing shorter development cycles, aiming to release new titles every three to four years, as opposed to the longer six-year timelines seen recently.
