GTA Online Introduces Luxury Mansions and New Features in ‘A Safehouse in the Hills’ Update

Rockstar Games has released the “A Safehouse in the Hills” update for GTA Online, introducing luxury mansions—a feature requested by the community since 2013. Players can now acquire millionaire-worthy homes in Los Santos, equipped with a massive garage, pool, gym, and premium services, including a barbershop, tattoo studio, and an AI assistant to aid criminal activities. Mansions include a master control terminal for managing businesses from home, a private rooftop helipad with a Volatus helicopter, a gym and yoga area for stat boosts, a swimming pool and hot tub for leisure, and kennels for pets. Players can customize the interior with trophy cabinets, an armory, an arcade, and a vehicle workshop. The update also lets players bolster their security team to safeguard their businesses and adds new vehicles such as the Pfister Xtreme, Ubermacht Sentinel XS4, and Grotti GT750. A new mission, “KnoWay Out,” offers a $400,000 bonus, and players can design their own missions using the Rockstar Mission Creator. Additional content includes a new Getaway Driver random event, four new Emotes, and a Missile Lock-On Jammer feature. Rockstar plans to add more missions, cars, and seasonal Adversary Modes in future updates.

GTA Online Unveils Mansions, Pets, and Michael’s Return in ‘Hills Luxury Update & Mission Creator

GTA subscribers gain early access to the Vapid FMJ MK V. From their mansion’s workshop, players can add Hao’s Special Works, Benny’s, Drift Tuning, and Missile Lock-On Jammer capability to vehicles. Through The Vinewood Club App, players can remotely assign tasks to staff at The Hangar, Warehouse, and Bail Office. Perhaps most notably, Michael De Santa and his wife, Amanda, are your new neighbors, and the trailer suggests Michael may come out of retirement. Pets, another long-awaited feature, are also available, allowing players to have a dog or cat roaming their property. Mansions start at $11.5 million and can exceed $12.8 million with customizations. These properties are available through Prix Luxury Real Estate. The “A Safehouse in the Hills” update launched on December 10 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The release times were 10 a.m. GMT, 5 a.m. EDT, 2 a.m. PDT, and 11 a.m. CET. In addition to the features above, Rockstar has added a Mission Creator available on all versions of GTA Online.
