Challenging New Expedition Mode, “Deep of Night,” Unleashes in Elden Ring Nightreign

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware are preparing to release “Deep of Night,” a challenging new expedition mode for Elden Ring Nightreign. This mode is designed to cater to hardcore players, who make up a significant portion of the game’s active player base. “Deep of Night” offers a major upgrade to existing content, featuring successive expeditions in instanced environments where survival conditions intensify from the outset. The mode enhances enemies, introduces unpredictable terrain, and selects the final boss for the player. Each incursion introduces five increasingly harsh phases via a depth system. Beyond the details shared by Bandai Namco, data mining operations have revealed additional information about this update. Rewards for the mode include Depth Relics—unique items with potent effects but significant drawbacks. For example, a torch that boosts lightning resistance might also expose players to more dangerous nighttime waves.
