Who is Lucas Pope, Known in the Indie Market for Both Papers, Please and Return of the Obra Dinn?

Lucas Pope, the mind behind the acclaimed Papers, Please, previously lent his talents to Uncharted and Uncharted 2. With Papers, Please, he masterfully transformed a seemingly mundane document-stamping simulator into a deeply emotional experience. On October 18, 2018, Pope released Return of the Obra Dinn for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, a captivating mystery challenging players to uncover the fate of 60 souls aboard a ship that eerily drifted back to port without a living crew. Its stark monochromatic, low-definition graphics vividly evoke the Macintosh era of the 1980s and 1990s. The story unfolds in 1803 on the Obra Dinn, owned by the London-based East India Company. Players step into the role of an insurance investigator tasked with piecing together the events that transpired on the ship, which vanished for four years before its unexplained reappearance. A detailed journal, complete with maps, crew manifests, and evocative illustrations, serves as the player's primary tool for solving the grim mystery. The game's product ID is 1108393852, published by 3909 LLC.
