Apocalypse and Utopia Collide in Apopia: A Disguised Tale, Now Available on PC via Steam

Independent publisher Happinet has announced that Quillo Entertainment's adventure title, Apopia: A Tale Disguised, is now available on PC via Steam for R46.99. The game officially launched on March 3rd, and a free demo of the prologue chapter is also available. Additionally, Apopia: The Broken Crown, an original animated short serving as a prequel, can be viewed on YouTube. To celebrate the launch, Happinet is offering a 10% discount on Apopia until March 9th. Starting March 12th, the game's original soundtrack will be available for separate purchase on Steam for R13.79. Onon Ng (Andy), director and co-founder of Quillo Entertainment, described Apopia as a "bitter story coated with sweetness," set within a fantastical world rooted in real experiences and emotions. Ng also expressed gratitude to those who have supported the eight-year development of the game. Apopia: A Tale Disguised, the debut title from the two-person team at Quillo Entertainment, blends comical adventure with a central dark mystery. Players control Mai, a young girl who finds herself in the strange land of Yogurt, ruled by a tyrant known as the Boss. Working together, Mai teams up with Nico, Moly, and the three musketeers to navigate this tricky situation.

The game features a hand-drawn world inspired by animated series from the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, where players will encounter a diverse cast of animal characters. As Mai, players will solve puzzles and overcome enemies in minigames to uncover the secrets of her identity, her family, and her ability to read minds and access a hidden realm within others' subconscious. One reviewer who previewed Apopia on the MSI Claw 8 AI praised its bright colors and lively characters while suggesting improvements to the journal system and minigame accessibility. Apopia: A Disguised Tale is the second title published under the Happinet Indie Collection label, and has been localized for English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese.
