Charlie Cox, who is known for his role as Daredevil in the MCU, spoke about the significant success of “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” for the first time, admitting that he has no idea what’s happening.
During a recent panel at a convention, unexpected information emerged that highlighted Cox’s disconnect from the phenomenon he helped create, subsequently going viral.
Developed by Sandfall Interactive, a studio founded by former Ubisoft employees, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released this year and surprised the market by becoming one of the biggest successes of 2025. Despite competition from remastered versions such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the game received critical acclaim, impressive sales figures, and strong consideration for Game of the Year. Its appeal stems from its innovative gameplay, distinctive artistic visuals, and a roster of renowned voice actors.
Charlie Cox voices Gustave, the protagonist in the early stages of the journey. When asked about the game’s impact, the actor was straightforward:
“It appears that the game is highly regarded,” said Cox. “I am not a gamer and have neither played nor understood it.” My agent asked if I wanted to do a voiceover job, and I spent approximately four hours in the studio. People keep congratulating me and saying it’s been successful, but all I feel is like a fraud. However, I am very pleased for the team; it’s incredible to see how well it turned out.
