Gang of Dragons: Ma Dongseok Stars in Nagoshi’s Tokyo Crime Epic

After leaving SEGA in 2022, Toshihiro Nagoshi, who founded Nagoshi Studio Inc. in November 2021, revealed his new action-adventure game, Gang of Dragons, at The Game Awards 2025. The project, developed in partnership with NetEase, is currently listed on Steam, though preorders are not yet available. Set in Tokyo’s Kabukicho district, Gang of Dragons stars Ma Dongseok (also known as Don Lee) as Shin Jiseong, a high-ranking member of a Korean crime syndicate. Nagoshi has emphasized that the game portrays the raw lives of outlaws in this setting, promising a compelling human drama. The game revisits themes familiar from the Yakuza series, such as crime, loyalty, and urban chaos, but through a Korean lens. Instead of a Japanese gangster, players control Shin Jiseong. Gameplay will feature close combat utilizing Ma Dongseok’s character’s powerful fists, katana handling, firearms, and vehicle action scenes, all rendered in a realistic visual style consistent with Nagoshi’s previous work. During The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley confirmed that the trailer consisted entirely of in-engine footage. While Gang of Dragons is deep in development for PC, no release date has been announced. Some anticipate a potential release in 2027.
