On June 28th, the Eco Cultural Center Sueli Pontes in Piratininga will host Joga RJ, a special event dedicated to the Fluminense region. This free event, supported by Niterói City Hall through the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, aims to connect local game developers with their audience. Targeted at young people, families, enthusiasts, and aspiring pros, it’s about more than just showcasing games. It’s a chance for the audience to meet developers directly, learn about the industry, create collaborative networks, and explore new career paths in gaming. According to ACJOGOS-RJ president Márcio Filho, this initiative helps educate the public and strengthen Brazil’s game ecosystem: “We want the Brazilian audience to see games made here. Plus, show them it’s possible to make games here in Brazil. This access to creators and games will inspire dreams of joining this market and perhaps creating the next big global success. We need to share experiences and knowledge, and Joga RJ does just that.” The focus will be on games developed by local studios and creators, but productions from other regions are also planned. During the event, over a dozen developers will present their work, interact with the audience, and share insights about the creation process and potential paths within Brazil’s gaming industry.
