Following Gamescom 2025, attention will turn to the Tokyo Game Show, scheduled for September 25-28, 2025. Publishers are currently scaling back communications before resuming them for this major event. PlayStation has several announcements planned, including updates on Ghost of Tsushima and Marvel’s Tokon: Fighting Souls, both of which will be playable at the show in Japan. The publisher has also hinted at additional surprises. Rumors suggest a significant State of Play presentation will occur prior to the event, as is customary. In the interim, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to their monthly complimentary games. PlayStation typically announces these free titles on the Wednesday afternoon before the first Tuesday of each month. Sony has now revealed the three free PS Plus games for September 2025.

Should you take a break from your subscription, the games will be waiting for you once it is active again. Regarding additions for PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers in September, more information will become available around mid-September. Mark your calendars for September 16, 2025; this is when the new arrivals are expected to be released, following an announcement planned for a week prior. The Essential games will be available to play from September 2 to October 7, 2025.
