BBB: Tadeu Schmidt Consoles Ana Paula Renault, Breaks Protocol, Shares Grief

During the finale of the reality show BBB 26 this Sunday (19), host Tadeu Schmidt shared his condolences with Ana Paula Renault, who had just learned of her father’s death. Producers of BBB 26 informed Renault that her father, Gerardo Henrique Machado Renault, had died on Sunday, April 19, just before the final elimination of the season. “Before anything else, Ana Paula, I wanted to give you a hug,” Tadeu began. “You will have your time to understand. Your time to absorb this shock, this blow, and we respect everything you wish to do.” Tadeu then shared that he was also grieving: “I also wanted to tell you something that completely goes against protocol, but at this point, who cares about the protocol?” He revealed that his brother, Oscar Schmidt, had died last Friday (17) at age 68. “You know when we’re hurting and we hold each other to be stronger… I’m also going through a mourning period; my brother died yesterday.”

He continued, “So, I just wanted to tell you that I deeply respect anything you choose to do. Respect this moment you’re living in. And I wanted to tell you that we admire you greatly, and it’s an honor to have you here with us.” Tadeu then spoke of Renault’s father and how his own brother would have reacted: “I imagine that your Gerardo would be applauding you immensely, proud of you, as I know my brother would say to me: ‘Dare not to leave,’ because that was our relationship with him,” he recounted. Upon hearing Tadeu’s words, Renault responded, “My God, Tadeu, what kind of scriptwriter is this? How are you also working there?” according to Gshow.
