On Thursday, the Ministry of Culture (Minc), through the Secretariat for Promotion and Cultural Incentive (SEFIC), convened the 369th Ordinary Meeting of the National Culture Incentive Committee (CNC). During the virtual meeting, the committee approved 481 cultural projects submitted under the Rouanet Law, authorizing R702 million in tax incentives. These resources, derived from fiscal renouncement, will enable companies and individuals to invest in cultural initiatives, thereby stimulating social and economic development within the cultural sector. Highlighted projects include: The Olodum School: Expanding its reach by establishing a base in Campinas (SP) for the “Rhythms to Transform” project, which offers free training in Afro percussion, singing, and dance, emphasizing racial equity and social inclusion for young people. Esquadrão Saúde (Health Squadron): Utilizing the itinerant theater of Cia. Palco sobre Lona to provide free performances in low-income communities, disseminating hygiene practices and promoting well-being through art. Nexed Festival: Promoting cultural decentralization in Paraná through a traveling program encompassing visual arts, cinema, and creative workshops for youth. The project values the legacy of local youth and democratizes access to artistic content across various municipalities in the state.

Expresso Dive: Delivering a unique sensory experience through blind theater, where public school audiences experience performances in complete darkness. Blind actors stimulate the hearing, smell, and touch of spectators within a realistic train car setting. Cinefoot (2026 Edition): The only Brazilian festival dedicated exclusively to cinematic works about football, has been authorized to proceed. This event will feature six days of competitive screenings, debates, and tributes to Brazilian and Latin American soccer legends. Thiago Rocha, Secretary of Fomento and Incentivo to Culture, emphasized the importance of the commission’s work in analyzing projects submitted for federal support. “Today’s authorized incentives boost the Brazilian cultural sector, ensuring relevant social initiatives reach various communities and strengthening Brazilian identity while expanding employment opportunities in the productive sector,” he stated. The next commission meeting will be held in May, bringing the commission to Caxias do Sul (RS). This initiative aims to promote the exchange of experiences among commissioners and cultural agents from different regions of the country, as well as enhance the use of fiscal incentives from the National Program of Support to Culture (Pronac).

The CNC, established by the Rouanet Law and updated with Decree No. 11,453/2023, serves as a qualified and voluntary advisory body in the management of the Rouanet Law. The Rouanet Law remains an important mechanism for cultural promotion in Brazil, ensuring that cultural projects receive the necessary support to positively impact society.
