Razer Unveils Viper V4 Pro and Gigantus V2 Pro Mice for Competitive Edge

Razer has released the Viper V4 Pro mouse and Gigantus V2 Pro mousepad, designed to give esports players a competitive edge. Razer states that both products were fine-tuned with professional players to ensure smooth responsiveness and consistent control. Jeff Chau, Global Esports Director at Razer, emphasized the importance of precision in esports, stating that pros need gear that delivers results. He added that the Viper V4 Pro, combined with the Gigantus V2 Pro's speedy surface, is built to keep up with and outpace the fastest plays by delivering quicker, more consistent inputs.

The Viper V4 Pro enhances its predecessor's performance, improving latency and click consistency to allow players to focus on the game. League of Legends champion Lee "Faker" Sanghyeok praised the mouse's speed and precision, stating that it feels like an extension of himself. The mouse averages 0.204 ms click latency and 0.36 ms movement latency, with a true 8,000 Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes. This results in motion latency more than twice as fast as previous models. It also boasts up to 180 hours of battery life at 1,000 Hz, nearly double that of other wireless gaming mice, as well as up to 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS, and 90 G of acceleration, plus Razer's Frame Sync technology.

The Viper V4 Pro also includes Dynamic Sensitivity and Smart Tracking for adapting to different setups. For precise adjustments, Mouse Rotation can be adjusted in 1 DPI increments, and Sensitivity Matcher and Asymmetric Cutoff (with 26 levels) are also included. The mouse features an optimized optical scroll wheel that Razer says is 3.3 times more reliable than traditional mechanical versions, reducing accidental inputs. Its new switch architecture provides fast response times and is rated for up to 100 million clicks, offering a tactile feel without the lag or double-click issues sometimes found in mechanical switches. Razer reduced the weight of the Viper V4 Pro to approximately 49g (black) and 50g (white)—about 9g lighter than the Viper V3 Pro—through structural refinements, a compact PCB, and durable construction. The Gigantus V2 Pro mousepad offers five customizable speed profiles, allowing players to select their preferred level of friction. A "Max Speed" version of the large Gigantus V2 Pro mousepad is slated for future release.
