Shinobi: Art of Vengeance - Crossover DLC to Face SEGA's Iconic Bosses

Sega and Lizardcube have revealed details about the upcoming Shinobi: Art of Vengeance DLC, Villains Level: Sega, scheduled for release on April 3, 2026. As the name suggests, the expansion allows players to confront iconic villains from Sega franchises, including Doctor Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, Death Adder from Golden Axe, and Goro Majima from the Yakuza series (also known as Like a Dragon). Villains Level: Sega enhances the core game with new combat techniques, customization options, and musical tracks. Players gain access to three new Ninjutsu techniques and can outfit Joe Musashi in three alternative costumes that pay tribute to the represented franchises. Six new music tracks are also included, alongside two boss rush mode variants. The new stages—The Desert, Mad Train, and ENE Corp Laboratory—unlock after players complete the fourth zone in the main game. These five crossover stages, inspired by Sonic, Golden Axe, and Yakuza, each culminate in a battle against the respective villain. The Sega Villains Stage DLC will be part of the Digital Deluxe version of the game but can also be purchased separately for $8.99.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance - Hardcore Update & Combat Adjustments DLC Preview

A free update will accompany the DLC release on April 3, introducing a Hardcore mode and various adjustments to the combat system, visual readability, and interface. Currently, a cinematic trailer offering a brief glimpse of gameplay is available.
