Episodes of the Live-Action Yakuza Drama Now Available in Partnership with Nihon Touitsu

Get ready, Yakuza fans! The live-action drama adaptation of your favorite video game series, produced by Nihon Touitsu and titled "Yakuza Powered by Nihon Toitsu," has cast Yasufumi Motomiya as Kazuma Kiryu, Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi as Goro Majima, Kazuhiro Nakaya as Akira Nishikiyama, and Kenji Matsuda as Makoto Date.

The live-action drama Yakuza Powered by Nihon Touitsu, a collaboration between RGG Studio and the makers of the Nihon Touitsu video series, is now streaming on SEGA's official YouTube channel. IGN exclusively premiered the series globally, also providing English subtitles. The main cast includes Yasufumi Motomiya as Kazuma Kiryu, Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi as Goro Majima, Kazuhiro Nakaya as Akira Nishikiyama, and Kenji Matsuda as Makoto Date. These first three episodes adapt events from the original Yakuza and Yakuza Kiwami, serving as a prequel to Yakuza Kiwami 3: Dark Ties, and offer fans a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the Yakuza saga. IGN premiered these episodes globally on March 17. The release schedule was: Episode 1: Tuesday, March 17, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET Episode 2: Wednesday, March 18, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET Episode 3: Thursday, March 19, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET Yakuza Kiwami 3: Dark Ties was released on February 12 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. While the three episodes of Yakuza Powered by Nihon Touitsu are currently available on YouTube, it is unknown whether they will remain permanently.

Brief Summary
Yamihara Kokoro and Asada Toramatsu live in a town that is quite peaceful, until a serial murder case happened where the bodies all had their blood drained out. Five years have passed but the case remains unsolved. Meanwhile, Kokoro and Toramatsu have been in a relationship for a year, but are unable to get married as they are keeping a serious secret from each other. Kokoro is actually a vampire. However, she does not attack humans and live modestly. Toramatsu is a popular resident in the town and is trusted by many. After getting a divorce, Toramatsu got drunk and went back to his old house, where he met Kokoro, the current occupant. As the two continue to keep their secrets hidden, a horrific murder occurs once again in the town.
