Alcione and Fafá de Belém Highlight March Program of Parque de Ideias for Women's Month

The Ideas Park, an event conceived by filmmaker Marcio Debellian (Febrero), returns in March 2026 with a special edition for Women's Month. From March 12th to 20th, the Parque Estadual Library in downtown Rio will host free activities focused on women-made culture, including meetings, classes, and workshops. The event will feature two editions of "Baú de Estrelas" (Star Chest), where DJ Zé Pedro shares selections from his personal collection—rare records, unreleased tracks, photos, and documents—during intimate conversations with iconic Brazilian musicians. Fafá de Belém, accompanied by João Rebouças on piano, will inaugurate the series on March 12th (Thursday). Alcione will then join Zé Pedro on March 18th (Wednesday) for an exploration of her career, complete with audiovisual surprises. Both conversations begin promptly at 6:00 PM, and registration is now open via the event's website.

In addition to these conversations, Ideas Park offers a series of workshops exploring diverse aspects of women's contributions to culture. Rodrigo Faour, journalist and researcher, leads "Great Brazilian Singers from the 20th Century: Pioneers of Female Lead Roles" from March 16th to 19th at 2:00 PM. This course uses visuals to trace the evolution of women in Brazilian music, highlighting figures such as Carmen Miranda, Elizeth Cardoso, Elis Regina, Gal Costa, Clara Nunes, Rita Lee, and Alcione. Also on March 18th at 2:00 PM, writer and screenwriter Manuela Cantuária, creator of The Followers and co-creator of the audio series Ninguém Com Esse Nome, will present "Script: From Object to Subject," a discussion of gender stereotypes in storytelling and their broader impact. Cantuária has also collaborated with Porta dos Fundos and co-hosts the podcast Reparação Histérica with Tati Bernardi and Milly Lacombe.

Enhancing Writing Skills and On-Camera Performance at Women's Month Edition in Parque de Ideias, Rio's Library

Two further workshops, in collaboration with professors from PUCRio, complete the program. Adriana Maciel leads "Writing Processes" from March 17th to 20th, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, helping participants develop their writing skills through the analysis of existing stories. Ana Kfouri, a performance expert and visual arts instructor, leads "Acting for Audiovisual" on March 16th, 18th, and 20th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, preparing actors for on-camera performance. Debê Produções, the Bat Institute, the Rio State Culture Secretariat, and the State Law for Cultural Incentive support Parque de Ideias, making the event free to the public. Now in its fourth season since its launch in 2002, the Women's Month edition in March 2026 promises a diverse program at Rio's Parque Estadual Library.
