On January 21, Ubisoft announced a major restructuring, dividing the company into five creative houses, each focused on a specific game genre. These houses will have complete control over their budgets and development processes, from initial concept to marketing launch. The new structure is as follows: Creative House 3: Focused on online games such as Brawlhalla and For Honor, with new seasonal content planned. Creative House 4: Dedicated to story-driven games like Anno and Rayman. Creative House 5: Focused on family-friendly titles, including brands like Just Dance and Uno. Ubisoft has not yet commented on potential job cuts resulting from this reorganization but promised further details on February 12. According to a report by Jason Schreier on Bluesky, this restructuring led to the cancellation of at least six unreleased games and the delay of seven others. The most notable cancellation is the remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Four other mobile game projects were also cancelled, though the titles have not been disclosed. The announcement follows previously reported layoffs at Massive and Ubisoft Stockholm, as well as the closure of the Halifax studio.

Leading up to the announcement, reports indicated that the Prince of Persia remake might be released as early as January 16. However, Schreier reported that Ubisoft executives were dissatisfied with the remake's progress, leading to its cancellation as part of the broader restructuring.
