Adolescencia’s Second Season Hints at Golden Globe Win and Possible Anthology Shift

The Netflix series Adolescencia, a limited series that became a major success in 2025 and sparked considerable discussion on social media, may be getting a second season. Hints of a possible continuation emerged at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards on January 12, 2026, where Stephen Graham, one of the show’s creators, won Best Actor in a Limited Series for his role in Adolescencia. In an interview with Variety at the event, Graham alluded to new episodes. Speaking with Deadline, he suggested that he and Jack Thorne were already developing ideas for season two, estimating a three-to-four-year timeframe for their release. Amelie Pease, who plays Lisa, also suggested a second season in an interview with Cosmopolitan UK. If a second season is produced, the main cast—including Owen Cooper, Stephen Graham, Christine Tremarco, Amelie Pease, Mark Stanley, Ashley Walter, Faye Marsay, and Erin Doherty—could return, and new cast members might be added. The series might also shift to an anthology format with a new crime story.

However, co-creator and writer Jack Thorne has expressed interest in exploring different avenues, particularly focusing on other characters from the first season. While the possibility of more Adolescencia seems likely, director Philip Barantini previously stated that there would be no sequel to the series, leaving the show’s future direction uncertain.
