Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Gets More Free Content

Free Content Update for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - Phantom Ganon, Forbidden Difficulty, and More!

Koei Tecmo, Nintendo, and AAA Games Studio have released new, free content for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which has been available since last November exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. An update to version 1.0.3 unlocks the Phantom Ganon feature, which introduces an element of surprise to battles by randomly transforming standard enemies into Vicious or Gloom Spawn versions. In addition, Phantom Ganon himself may appear as an opponent. For players seeking a tougher experience, the Forbidden difficulty level has been added. Conquering these challenging battles yields special rewards, such as increased special rations capacity or Zonaite Pure Ace. This release also includes new optional missions and introduces the possibility of encountering vicious Lizalfos and Chuchus. Players will also discover new skills and weapons. The update includes general bug fixes. Separately, on December 18th, 2025, Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment received its own free content update. This update includes a new, more challenging difficulty mode, along with new Battle Challenges, Hyrule Challenges, and a new Training Hall to hone your skills. A brand-new weapon has also been added to the game. Note that Phantom Ganon is not related to this particular update.
