Resident Evil 9 Requiem: Leon S. Kennedy Leaked, Thank You PlayStation!

Resident Evil 9 Requiem: Kennedy and Ashcroft's Confrontation Confirmed!

The appearance of Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 9: Requiem is all but confirmed. Rumors surrounding the character have circulated for months, and the PlayStation Store appears to have leaked the game's cover art, which prominently features Leon standing over Grace Ashcroft, the game's main protagonist. The cover appeared in the PS5 pre-download section, and IGN verified its authenticity. On the cover, Leon sports his iconic Resident Evil 4 look: his signature haircut, a fur-trimmed leather jacket, and a determined expression. While Grace Ashcroft is a main character, the game's story will reportedly split between her and Leon. It is unclear if Leon and Grace will have playable sections together, but leaks suggest Leon's sections might be set in the past or during different times in Raccoon City, with Grace investigating the present.

Resident Evil 9 Requiem: Kennedy's Final Chapter & Ashcroft's Emergence

Resident Evil 9: Requiem is rumored to be Leon Kennedy's final chapter. His absence from promotional materials fueled speculation that his appearance would be a surprise. Leaks suggest Grace Ashcroft may become the series' new main character in future installments. A reveal may occur at The Game Awards 2025. Leon's posture and expression on the leaked cover suggest a more significant role than Capcom initially indicated, with Ashcroft handling the tension and suspense typical of the series. During Gamescom 2025, Capcom avoided directly addressing Leon's presence, implying he wouldn't fit the game's calmer sections. According to insider Dusk Golem, Leon's presence indicates intense action scenes, balancing the psychological tension Ashcroft brings. The cover leak has rekindled fan devotion to the character. In related news, players discovered Leon Kennedy appearing in Resident Evil: Final Chapter on the PlayStation Store, again in his classic Resident Evil 4 look. A GameStop listing for the deluxe PC edition also hints at a sneak peek of Rosemary Winters. [Note: The following information appears to be from a previous game and may be misplaced.]

In other Resident Evil news, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield are playable characters in Resident Evil Village, released on May 7, 2021. A demo called Maiden, released on January 21, 2021, offered a preview of the game's opening sequence on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Resident Evil 9: Requiem cover leak strongly suggests Leon Kennedy will play a significant role in the upcoming game.
