Marvel's First Offer to Chloé Zhao Was Black Widow, Not Eternals

Chloé Zhao, director of Eternals, revealed that when she considered joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio offered her Black Widow, not Eternals. According to Zhao, she initiated contact with Marvel Studios to discuss directing a project. They proposed Black Widow, but scheduling conflicts prevented her from taking on the role, which Cate Shortland ultimately filled.
