Dying Light: The Beast - Enhanced Open-World Survival with New Gameplay Mode

Techland has released Update 1.4, the largest and most significant update to date for Dying Light: The Beast. This update introduces new content, ray tracing, and hundreds of improvements to gameplay, movement, combat, co-op, audio, and performance, enhancing immersion and solidifying the game's position as a top open-world survival horror experience. The update includes the following features: New Game: Players can now replay the story of Kyle Crane, the game's protagonist, while retaining all their gear and progress from their first playthrough. Enemy difficulty is increased, with higher-tier weapons appearing to match the challenge. Subsequent playthroughs further increase the difficulty and grant access to more powerful weapons and enemies in Castor Woods.

Enhanced Endgame Progression, Legend Levels, and Ray Tracing in Dying Light

Legend Levels: A classic endgame progression system, Legend Levels, has been added, allowing players to level up beyond the main ability tree to level 15 and earn Legend XP. Higher difficulty settings and New Game tiers boost Legend XP gains. Each Legend Level grants Legend Points for passive upgrades, such as increased health, better combat stats, and an enhanced Beast Mode. This system unlocks a variety of rewards, including two new outfits, a legendary vehicle skin, 22 new weapons, and three new finishers for one-handed blunt, two-handed blunt, and two-handed slasher weapons. Ray Tracing: Ray tracing is now available, enhancing the game's lighting, shadows, and reflections. To enable ray tracing, set the Video Quality Preset to Ultra in the game settings. Parkour and Environment: Over 200 parkour and environment navigation issues have been addressed, including climbing and ledge-grab problems and blocked traversal routes, resulting in improved parkour flow. Multiple environmental elements, such as ziplines and vault poles, have also been adjusted or fixed.

Dying Light's Update 1.4: Gameplay Refinements, Community Challenges, & Double XP Event

Additional Fixes and Improvements: Update 1.4 delivers over 400 improvements, including fixes for more than 35 stability issues, as well as enhancements to reinforcements, vehicle challenges, co-op, performance, visual elements, the user interface, and audio. The team also resolved a blocker in the High Noon quest. Community Challenge: An Executioner community challenge is underway from November 27 to December 4, with rewards granted for executing 1,000,000 and 2,500,000 finishers. Players who log into the game by December 2 will also receive an exclusive in-game item, the Bloody Bowie Knife. Additionally, a double XP event is active until November 30. According to Techland, Update 1.4 reflects the studio's commitment to community feedback, with gameplay refinements and error fixes implemented based on player suggestions. Dying Light: The Beast is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S on August 22. A discount on the game is available at loaded.com. Techland plans to continue supporting the game and engaging with the community.
