Game Workers Union 'Trolls' Rockstar After GTA 6 Delay

Rockstar Under Fire for Anti-Union Move Amidst GTA VI Delay and Alleged Leaks

Following the announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI's delay last Thursday, the Game Workers Union (GWU) criticized Rockstar Games, stating, "We've got 31 game devs ready to start work," alluding to recent layoffs and unionization problems at the studio. This criticism follows past allegations against Rockstar, including reports of intense crunch during the development of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, when some employees reportedly worked 100-hour weeks. GWU President Alex Marshall condemned Rockstar's actions regarding the GTA VI delay, calling them "one of the most blatant anti-union moves in gaming history" and "a slap in the face to their fans and the whole industry." Rockstar recently implied that some terminated employees may have leaked studio secrets. However, Omelete reports that the discussion occurred in a private Discord chat with IWGB members and found no evidence of leaked confidential information.
