Google's Spooktacular Pac-Man 45th Birthday Doodle, Featuring Haunted Mazes

Today's Google Doodle features a festive surprise: a Halloween-themed celebration of Pac-Man's 45th birthday. This year's Doodle offers eight stages, including four exclusive haunted mazes developed in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment. Players guide Pac-Man through these stages, chomping dots and dodging the familiar ghosts: Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde. Each maze's design visually embodies the personality of its resident ghost. Collecting Power Pellets allows Pac-Man to turn the tables and chase the ghosts. The Pac-Man Doodle game is available on Google's homepage today and tomorrow. Pac-Man, originally known as Puck Man in Japan, is an arcade puzzle game that debuted in 1980. Namco developed the game, and Midway Games brought it to North America that October through a licensing agreement. Players control Pac-Man, navigating a closed maze to consume dots while avoiding four colorful ghosts. Eating the large Power Pellets causes the ghosts to turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to chase them. Toru Iwatani led a team of nine people to develop the original game, beginning in early 1979. The Halloween-themed Pac-Man Doodle is available for a limited time.
