Pierre Tarno of Sloclap apologized for any confusion, acknowledging that the initial Rematch trailer might have led some astray. He clarified that the team’s intention was to venture into a fresh creative project, a decision akin to their approach when first announcing Sifu. Sloclap dedicated over a year and a half to post-launch support for Sifu, feeling they had fully committed to the game. Rather than developing another title using the same formula, the studio opted for Rematch to explore projects they are passionate about. Regarding a potential Sifu 2, Sloclap believes it is best to pause development for now. The studio remains open to the possibility of a sequel’s return in the future, though no promises have been made.
