Nintendo announced Splatoon Raiders, a “spin-off” from the Splatoon series for the Switch 2.
The announcement was made by the Nintendo Today app on Tuesday, accompanied by a teaser trailer suggesting a shooter extraction style. Details about Splatoon Raiders will be revealed at another time, but Nintendo has provided the following description: “Assuming the role of a mechanic, players will embark on an adventure to the mysterious Spirhalite Isles alongside the spectacular trio Deep Cut.”
Along with the announcement of Splatoon Raiders through a teaser, Nintendo has also revealed an update for Splatoon 3 on the Switch 2, set to release this week on June 12th. The update includes “more detailed visuals and a smoother appearance,” along with new weapons from the Splatlands collection.
Based on previous weapons, these new additions feature refreshed visuals with different secondary and special weapons, Nintendo stated. There will be 30 new weapon kits in this collection, and the return of a map from the original Splatoon, Urchin Underpass, along with all weapon freshness limits being increased and new emblems added to the game.
Furthermore, a statistic known as “Series Weapon Power” will be introduced in Anarchy Battle. This metric will show each player’s performance with specific weapons based on their win-loss record in battles.
