Following a disastrous launch in June 2025, Build A Rocket Boy studio is attempting to revitalize Mindseye with the release of the Mindseye Free Starter Pack, a permanent free entry point into the game. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, this pack offers a portion of the campaign and access to regularly updated content, designed to showcase the game’s potential. The free version features the “Robin Hood” mission, widely considered a highlight, which follows Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier with a neural implant and unstable memories, through urban gunfights, vehicle pursuits, and a final action-stealth confrontation. Players can also experience additional combat, survival, and racing challenges in Arcadia. Mindseye’s initial release was critically panned, leading to staff dismissals at Build A Rocket Boy amid allegations of mismanagement. Subsequent updates delivered corrections, AI enhancements, combat revisions, and other fixes that should have been included at launch. The Free Starter Pack arrived with Update 6, which also brought stabilization, performance improvements, and better animations. In an effort to win back players, the full version of Mindseye is currently on sale for $29.99 $27.49, a 50% discount.
