Death Stranding: Mosquito, an animated film from Kojima Productions and Line Mileage, is currently in development as a Hollywood co-production with ABC Animation. ABC Animation Studio focuses on exploring new animation concepts, particularly “line expression.” Inspired by art forms ranging from Ukiyoe to manga, the studio incorporates the expressive power of lines—created with brushes, pencils, chalk, and digital pens—to bring a distinct hand-drawn feel, including traditional Japanese rough line aesthetics, to animation. Death Stranding: Mosquito marks Miyamoto’s first Hollywood animated collaboration.
