The studio Neople announced a free DLC for The First Berserker: Khazan that will allow players to play as a female protagonist.
Although the character’s gender does not impact gameplay, the update for “The First Berserker: Khazan” will also include opponent dismemberment effects, providing a more visceral experience.
The free expansion will be offered to the community as a token of gratitude for their support since the game’s launch in March and to demonstrate Neople’s commitment to its audience. The studio has released several updates for “The First Berserker: Khazan,” which have already restructured the overall Souls-like game difficulty, including an “easy” mode that will now be the default setting. A “beginner” mode further simplifies progression to accommodate newcomers, but players who prefer a challenge can opt for the hardcore mode, where health and stamina bars are hidden, the invincible super transformation cannot be used, and the camera is locked. Completing the game in specialist mode (formerly known as normal) is required to unlock the hardcore mode.
In addition, Neople has implemented several quality-of-life changes, allowing players to set ability sets for quick swapping. This is a useful feature for testing different character builds, especially given the recent rebalancing of the throw mechanic. It may be beneficial to experiment with new abilities before returning to competitive play. Similarly, equipment sets can now be saved for easy access. Neople, the studio behind The First Berserker: Khazan, is set to release a free DLC on June 26th that includes a female version of the protagonist and enhanced gruesome opponent dismemberment effects. This update is intended as a thank you to the community for their support since the game’s launch in March. Additionally, Neople has implemented several adjustments to cater to diverse player preferences:1. **Difficulty restructuring:** An “easy” mode is now the default setting, while a “beginner” mode simplifies progression for new players. A “hardcore” mode provides an intense challenge with hidden health/stamina bars and no invincible transformation, along with a locked camera. 2. **Unlock condition:** Completing the game in ‘specialist’ (formerly normal) mode unlocks hardcore mode.3. **Quality of life improvements:** Players can now quickly switch between ability sets, test various builds due to rebalanced throws, and save equipment sets for easy access.
