Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios continue to add content to their game Mortal Kombat 1 with the introduction of a second downloadable character. Following Omni-Man, Peacemaker is now available to showcase his combat skills within this violent franchise. The Peacemaker featured is the version from the DC film “The Suicide Squad” and its HBO Max TV series, portrayed by comedian John Cena. For those unfamiliar with the films, series, or comic books, it’s important to note that Peacemaker, also known as Christopher Smith, aims to spread peace worldwide and will not hesitate to kill to achieve this goal. He is devoted to his mission and will eliminate anyone deemed necessary for its success. Players can now experience his various attacks, including the iconic abilities of his helmet (Sonic Boom), as well as his white-headed eagle companion named Eagly.
The video also introduces Janet Cage, another downloadable character available as DLC. This is an alternate version of Johnny Cage who will function as a striker in battles. Janet Cage will be accessible through the Kombat Pack or as a standalone purchase in March 2024. Additionally, cross-play functionality will be introduced to Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). This feature will enable players to participate in one-on-one matches within the Kombat League and friendly encounters, invite friends for private one-on-one matches, and view ranking statistics across all supported platforms.
