In a discreet manner, Ubisoft has officially announced on September 22, 2023, the development of The Division 3. The announcement included no fanfare or imagery; it was merely mentioned in a press release that primarily focused on Julian Gerighty’s appointment as executive producer for The Division franchise. Gerighty currently serves as the creative director for Star Wars Outlaws. At this early stage, the project requires the assembly of a team to begin production. Consequently, it will likely take several years before the game is ready, with an earliest release date not expected before 2026. In the meantime, Ubisoft plans to release Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars Outlaws.
